The Odd Fellows*Malt Whisky Society is a group of friends who enjoy drinking good single malt whisky.

This enjoyment is usually accompanied by good conversation, good food and good cigars: a truly excellent combination of some of the finer things in life. The OFMWC meets at members’ homes and also organises trips to whisky festivals and other excursions, projects and expeditions that are in line with the mission outlined above.

The meetings at the homes of members have on many occasions resolved some of the greater political, spiritual, religious and philosophical issues facing mankind today. This site contains a collection of items on the society and its activities. Feel free to take a look around and you will find pictures of whisky tasting Odd Fellows, bottles of excellent whisky, reports on outings, our diary and links to other useful whisky sites.

Unfortunately, it has not been possible to keep the whole of this dynamic site up to date in English, so most of the content is in Dutch. But we are sure that after a couple of glasses of good single malt, you won’t mind at all. Should you have any queries or comments, please see our guestbook.

18/12/2004 The Islay X-mas Experience
Quite a lot of pre-work had been done and a lot was expected from the evening of evenings, The Mother of all Tastings. During the mini tasting at WJ’s place last November the plan was made. We would organise a X-mas tasting that would have the theme The Whiskies of Islay, the favourite region and taste of most of the O.F’s.

September 18th 2004

The collection of bottles on the table was pretty impressive! From a Glengoyne via a beautiful Mystery bottle and a very good Bowmore Cask Strenth we the Odd Fellows ended with a Single Cask Ardbeg......

Also the barbeque at the beginning of the evening and the very tasty Smoked Pink Fellows were delicious!!

De eerste Tasting sessie van 2004 van de Odd Fellows is een feit. Afgelopen Donderdag 8/1 kwam een selectie van het genootschap bijeen om een goede poging te doen om de kleur, geur en smaak ‘notes’ van 10 flessen op papier te krijgen.

Het was echter niet eenvoudig om deze sessie te organiseren, een combinatie van omstandigheden zorgde ervoor dat een avond geschikt voor alle niet te vinden was. De avond welke de meeste deelnemers kon verwachten werd dus gekozen. Lees meer

De oddste Odd Fellow komt weer terug in Nederland. Wat zal hij meebrengen? Welke (sterke) verhalen zal hij vertellen? Na de drijfzand verhalen van de laatste keer zal hij z'n best moeten doen om die te overtreffen! Helaas moet hij op Heathrow ruim 4 uur wachten op de aansluitende vlucht naar Nederland. Maar zit er op Hethrow geen Whisky Store?

 

21 November: Whisky Festival Den Haag bezocht

Den Haag: de grote Whisky Meet van Nederland. De heren stappen na jaren van file parkeren in de trein. Rob is gids. En terwijl de coupe verstoord opkijkt, (lijkt wel de wachtkamer van een tandarts!) kletsen de heren er lustig op los. Ze hebben haast, want de start is om 19.00 uur en elke minuut later is zonde.
